The ABC units, mounted on standard trucks or trailers, take a few minutes only to deploy from the rest position to the work position, without personnel on board. Only after launching maneuvers are over operators are enabled to descend on board the platform through the provided protected access and from there they can communicate with personnel on bridge deck by means of an intercom system. The launching of platform, which has a length comprised between 5 and 23 meters depending on the model, is operated by proportional controls and hydraulic power supply. The traversing maneuver of the unit in forward and reverse on bridge deck with platform deployed underneath is governed from platform control station, with the consent of the driver in the cab. Suitable to operate in the most strained environmental conditions, the ABC units allow access to bridges having barriers up to more than 5 m height and, thanks to the “Descender” device, they enable to check the condition of piers up to more than 50 m depth. Equipped with emergency electro pump, the units can be supplied fitted of other accessories such as generator and compressor with air and water plants and “Assistant Ladder” mounted on platform to enable access of personnel inside the girders for inspection of bridge soffits. The spacious platforms of the ABC range enable the operators to carry out any sort of heavy-duty repair works underneath bridge decks by the use of electric/hydraulic/pneumatic operated tools which are supplied directly from the outlets provided on board the platform. Demolition works can be also carried out by means of hammers, after previous protection of the platform with plastic covers against the fall of debris. The use of the ABC machines is made possible as well on bridges having very high wind/noise barriers up to 5.4 m. for the standard models, which can be increased to even bigger heights on special request. The system used to make possible the crossing of such high bridge barriers does not require to mount/dismount parts of the machine on the spot to enable operation. Moreover, the time required to deploy the equipment also across high barriers is limited to a few minutes only. The smallest unit ABC 60 of the range, being mounted on a truck chassis of 3.5 tons GVW only, is specifically designed to enable quick and easy access to the underside of bridges of limited dimensions. Thanks to its high versatility and high performances, matched to its low cost, the ABC 60 is the ideal machine for local Road Authorities and private Contractors who are taking care of inspection and repair works of small-size bridges belonging to the regional and local road networks.
